What is CTAS
The Climbtime Award Scheme is a logbook-based system designed to integrate into any climbing gym’s current youth sessions. The Goal of CTAS is to easily identify where an athlete is in their learning pathway no matter what system (school, club, camp, etc) they come through
CTAS in Practice
There is a program manual that covers the expectations of each level of the CTAS program, the facilitator chooses how they will integrate the logbooks and separate the groups. Each of the General Awards has 3 levels in their logbooks there are different requirements dependent on age to start both the belayer and lead awards, the facilitating gym has descretion on these requirements however stated age is recommended minimums
How do the log books Work
Each log book contains logging, upskilling and assessment pages. The logbook pages have areas for regular coach feedback.
Award Overview
Preschool Certificates
The Preschool certificates are distance-based reward certificates that are provided during sessions where climbing is available as well as space for other physical development, eg. Matts and balls etc (particularly, Agility Balance & Coordination)

General Awards
Designed for school age climbers these log books have 3 levels each. Different ages may move to the next award at different levels of completion
Climber Award
Suitable Age 5+
Work your way through your log book with areas for coach feedback, upskill pages and assessment tasks to achieve all 3 levels of the Climber Award
Belayer Award
Min Requirements:
- Age 10 + (shortened level 1 climber is on first page
- Level 2 Climber and 9 years old
- Level 3 Climber and 8 years old

Lead Award
Min Requirements:
- Level 2 Belayer and 13 years old
- Level 3 Belayer and 11 years old

Boulderer Award
Separate from the Route Climbing Awards.

Junior Setter
Once Advance skills award has been achieved work on the creative and technical skills required to be an amazing routesetter

Once you have completed your training skills award work on the knowledge and skills needed to coach
Junior Judge
Learn competition rules inside out and how to be use those rules to guide your judging behaviour.
